Once upon a time ... in a galaxy far far away ...

Woo hoo, first posting of 2013!!! I have a good feeling that this year I'll have a more creatively productive year. For a while I've been wanting to put my own spin on the Disney princesses and I've finally found a different direction for them that I haven't seen explored too much (surprisingly).I had to look up a good bit of Star Wars reference because I'm not entirely familiar with all their characters, so I borrowed visual motifs from different Jedis such as Asajj Ventress and Kit Fisto. There are more designs for other ones so stay tuned!

  7. Had to find my way back here from Geekologie, Nerd Approved, etc. this is all over the place. I like what you did with Ariel's look. What were your considerations on which princess to use?

    1. Yeah it surprised me how viral these little pictures have gotten. I usually try to find a commonality with the princess and Star Wars and build upon that. For Ariel I associated her immediately with Kit Fisto. Her long flowing fish body and general body composition reminded me of Asajj Ventress, so there was a visual compatibility with them. Same thing with Rapunzel and padwans ... hair. Hope that helps!
